Designed for long life and reliable operations in severe industrial applications

| Standard Features | Specifications | Performance Data |

These motors are totally enclosed and sealed to minimize the possibility of dirt, dust, water, or other contaminates from entering the motor and shortening the life of the motor. The SXT motor is ideal in applications where standard open drip-proof or totally enclosed motors do not provide adequate protection. They are built extra tough for life in moist, contaminated environments found in chemical plants, petroleum refineries, paper mills and other demanding industrial installations.

Standard Features

  • Frame - Heavy gauge steel with full seam weld. Optimum thickness for better heat dissipation. Frame-to-end-shield fits extra long, turned, and sealed with permatex® to protect motor internals from contaminants. Frame zinc chromate plated and primed with acrylic enamel primer.
  • End Shields - Cast iron to provide extra strength and corrosion resistance. Epoxy primed.
  • Drains - "T" drain in end shield provides drainage of any condensation and moisture collected inside motor and on windings. Fan cooled motors have drain hole in fan end providing an additional exit for moisture.
  • Base - Heavy duty steel welded to frame. Base zinc chromate plated and primed with acrylic enamel primer.
  • Rotor - Cast aluminum with integrally cast fins for excellent cooling. Keyless design, heat shrunk to shaft, turned for proper air gap and dynamically balanced. Coated with epoxy polyamide primer to resist corrosion. Designed for a superior, more efficient and rugged electrical design.
  • Stator - Specially treated class "F" and "H" wire used with full slot liner material. Coil heads laced for improved mechanical strength. Stator tested before and after assembly providing optimum electrical integrity.
  • Insulation - Non-hygroscopic, double dipped and baked insulation assures superior electrical strength and integrity. Phase insulation included for inverter duty applications on three-phase motors.
  • Hardware - Zinc chromate plated, high strength, with hex heads. Plating provides exceptional corrosion protection.
  • Seals - Lipseals on both ends.
  • Bearings - Double sealed, oversized and permanently lubricated for improved bearing life. Rugged to hold up in tough applications.
  • Conduit Box - Oversized, top mounted, conduit box with F1/F2 conduit connection and grounding lug for ease of installation and safety (F1/F2 conduit box in the end shield for TENV). Conduit box and lid are gasketed to protect the interior of the motor from life limiting contaminates.
  • Shaft - High strength, 416 stainless steel. Offers better resistance to abrasive and corrosive materials.
  • Nameplate - Stainless steel for added life in corrosive atmospheres. Provides ease of identification.
  • Connection Diagram - Permanently attached to motor.
  • Fan - Antistatic, bidirectional, corrosion resistant polypropylene. Provides superior cooling with reduced losses due to air movement. Keyed and clamped to prevent movement on the shaft.
  • Single-phase - Electronic starting switch mounted in conduit box (or on end shield for TENV) providing convenience and reliability.
  • Finish - Exterior is coated with an acrylic enamel finish coat for superior corrosion resistance, durability and extended service life.
  • Leads - Permanently marked providing fast identification.
  • Certifications - U.L.® component recognition and CSA® approved.
  • Energy Saving Design - Provided by electrically matched rotor and stator which reduce primary and secondary losses. Also available in energy efficient designs for superior savings.
